Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. Our volunteers not only deliver nutritious meals, but often provide much needed companionship to homebound individuals. Our volunteers come from all walks of life—students, retirees and working people on their lunch breaks. Meals are packed in our kitchen at Mt. San Antonio Gardens on Bonita Avenue beginning at 9:00 a.m. Our delivery routes cover the City of Claremont California, begin around 10:30 a.m., and take about an hour to complete. Our volunteers are important to us and we will do everything we can to make your experience rewarding and easy to manage. Claremont Meals on Wheels is deeply grateful to the many individuals who volunteer their time to package and deliver meals, serve as day captains, schedule the routes, and serve as substitutes.
The need for reliable volunteers to pack or deliver meals is ongoing. Drivers must have their own transportation. Persons with computer expertise are needed to help with routing.
The minimum commitment for a volunteer packer or driver is 1-2 hours one day a week on either the 1st, 3rd, and 5th or the 2nd and 4th week of the month.Volunteer Application
